East River Veterinary Clinic - Our Staff

Cassondra

Cassondra Verellen, LVT

I have been in the veterinary field since 2012. In the summer of 2011, I graduated from Baker College of Flint earning my associates degree in veterinary technology. I have continued my education through attendance of various seminars and online courses. I love to educate clients about the best care for their pets and to explain the reasons why we make the recommendations that we do. I am the proud owner of two dogs named Sissy and Harley, and two cats named Blaze and Domino. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading and spending time with family and friends.

Steve

Steve Boyer, Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant

Steve fell into the veterinary medicine world by chance back in 2009.  Having no knowledge in the field, he was trained by his superiors and worked on the administration side of the industry.  Working his way up, he was trained to be a Vet Assistant, which included preparing vaccines for administering, pet handling and assisting the Licensed Veterinary Technicians.  After taking a three-year break from the industry in 2016, he has joined our team here at East River Veterinary Clinic, and we are happy to have him.  Steve has a Labrador Retriever at home and chickens.  Steve is an artist at heart.  He is a retired dancer and gymnast.  In his spare time, he focuses on Podcasting and exercise.

Kayla R

Kayla Rolley, Veterinary Assistant

Kayla started working in the veterinary field in 2015.  She graduated in 2015 from the University of Findlay with a bachelor's degree in Western Equestrian Studies.  From there she began working for a professional horse trainer and it was then that she found her passion for medical care of the animals.  Kayla is the proud mother of a daughter, three border collies, two cats and a horse.  Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and training horses.
